“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland.” Isaiah 43:18 & 19
One of the most wonderful attributes of God is that He “will remember our sins no more.” (Jer. 31:34). We may be ashamed of things from our past and afraid that God could never love and accept us because of them. But He is gracious and does not condemn us. Through repentance our sin is forgiven and forgotten.
Even wonderful memories can keep us from letting go of the past. But the Lord commands us to keep moving forward. The more weighed down we are by the past, the more difficult it is to move into the freedom and victory that He has for us.
Are you carrying hurt from past experiences? Are you hanging on to something good that is keeping you from the new thing God has for you? Ask Him to give you a fresh start.
