Standing in the Gap

The conditions God pointed out in Israel through through the prophet, Isaiah, in Isaiah chapter 59, were hauntingly like the headlines we find in the New York Times today.

• feet that run to do evil, shedding innocent blood (vs. 7)
• hoping for light, but only finding darkness (vs. 9)
• groping along the wall like blind men (vs. 10)
• The absence of justice (vs. 11)
• Truth that has stumbled int he streets (vs. 14)
