Musings on Prayer

Westgate has had weekly prayer meetings, dedicated to prayer, for 28 years now.

And, for most of those years, any sense of urgency in prayer was either graciously provided by the Holy Spirit or was the product of crisis in the life of the church.

For the most part, the last 28 years of prayer meetings have been held in a season of relative comfort and ease in the Pacific Northwest and the nation.

We have lived with little sense of urgency or the dire consequences of our day.

But now, with COVID-19 and the unbridled spirit of lawlessness threatening the Church, our lives and the future of our children, it’s time for the gloves to come off in the place of personal, family and corporate prayer.

IF there is a future for this country it will ONLY be carved out in the battlefield of the Holy Spirit, with God’s people confidently wielding the spiritual weapons of our spiritual warfare…one of which is prayer.

THIS is the time for men and woman, mothers and fathers, young and old to gather in the corporate prayer meeting, standing between the temple and the altar, and calling on the Name of the Lord in boldness and faith.

The time to pray is NOW!
